good conversation, good company, just goodness

It has been awhile since a little update has happened. We've had company!! It's so fun to have company. Joe and Andrew were both down here last weekend and what loads of fun it was. It is always great to have good, old time friends back into our lives beyond the phone even if their main purpose of their visit was to make the blog. Joe lives in California going to grad school and Andrew lives in Illinois, also going to grad school. It was just good karma that their trips down here coincided with one another.

I learned a lot from these two while they were down here, it must be their advanced thinking being in grad school and all. let me share my list:
  • in joe's profession (clinical psychology) he connects either emotions to words or words to emotions.
  • real men wear blue
  • joe makes amazing granola
  • gabe and i have a lot of condiments in our refrigerator door
  • there's A LOT to know about bowling
  • you need different bowling balls for how you want the throw to break which depends upon how the place has oiled their lanes
  • you have two different shoes on your feet, one for sliding and one for not sliding. If you leave the bowling area (to get beverages or to the bathroom) there is a booty you wear over your slider shoe
  • you can order balls that smell like apple pie, orange chocolate, black cherry, grape...
  • tequila is made from agave's which bats pollinate so therefore without bats there would be no tequila but its definitely all about the bats
  • joe really likes wal-mart
  • there are extra-terrestrial sphericals in the air. andrew can collect them on his mailbox
  • joe learns a lot from his travels
  • andrew and joe are pretty skilled at playing yard games, gabe and i are skilled at making them

That's just a little of all that i learned this past weekend. thanks andrew and joe for such good times. Aaaallloohhm.

We ARE very interesting people. I think I am not alone in saying that that blog entry brought tears to my eyes. I'm glad that Andrew and I can bring such insight into your life regarding such important life lessons. I'm also glad that you were able to actually write the correct phonetics for that sound we were all trying to make. I'm also glad that you two are in my life. I'll let you know when Andrew and I get married...you better start practicing your power knee slide, as well as your speeches!

Interesting, unique, and yes at times somewhat disturbed (I have a ball that smells like apple pie). Life lessons indeed Joe. Until you've mastered the art of tossing perfectly stitched, color-coded, rectangular bean bags into masterfully engineered wooden platforms, you're life is slightly short of satisfied. What I am so grateful of from my truly profound trip to the southwest, is my new found appreciation of flying through the sky, sitting in a chair. Simply remarkable. From now on, I am also going to give life a second. Regardless of whether it's going to space or not! Thanks Joe, Gabe and Shannon (aka Wheeler-Wards) for a wonderful spring break. Definitely one to remember! Joe, keep me posted on the wedding plans too and remember, the power knee slide is only to be conducted under the influence and with rental tuxes. Avoid personal suits!
